Motorcycle Safety Instructors are responsible for student safety and delivering effective coaching during on-cycle instructional periods. Instructors conduct site and motorcycle maintenance and repair, deliver equipment and collaterals to training sites using program vehicles and trailers, train other instructors, and conduct site compliance audits. Instructors evaluate training and initiate appropriate action. Instructors fulfill course and activity reporting and are lead workers for community outreach.

This position delivers and teaches motorcycle safety courses using approved curriculum and following established procedures and policies. The incumbent will collaborate, promote, and deliver public information, awareness, and outreach. The incumbent will be responsible for the security of all motorcycles and equipment in facilitation of the program as well as maintaining service equipment, facilities, and collaterals.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Current First Aid and CPR certification required.
2. Current MSF certification required.
3. Teaching students to ride requires Rider Coaches have a certain level of fitness to ensure a quality training experience and to ensure safety for everyone on the practice range. New and currently certified Rider Coaches must be able to:
a. Lift to upright, tipped over training motorcycles, 60 pound boxes containing instructional material, and gas cans weighing up to 40 pounds.
b. Push/pull training motorcycles weighing 300 - 480 pounds.
c. Bend repeatedly, hold arm/hand signals, and/or signs upright, and walk quickly when needed.
d. Stand for long periods of time (up to eight hours).
e. Able to work in hot, cold and wind outdoor conditions.
4. Experience teaching college level courses is preferred.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with college faculty, staff and students.
6. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.

Potential Motorcycle Rider Coaches (Instructors) should have some teaching experience. Must hold a Class M endorsement in the State of Colorado for a minimum of two years and be certified through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF).
